Devilish

RM10

At St. Teresa’s Preparatory School for Girls in Providence, Rhode Island, rebellious senior class genius Jane Jarvis is worried about her best friend Allison Concord. Ally is lovable, but a little clueless, and badly in need of Jane’s help. She needs to get a freshman “sister” at the school’s annual Big-Little celebration. When Ally blows it (rather literally), Jane knows that they are in for a rough few weeks. She has no idea just how rough they will be. Strange things start happening in Providence. Then Ally begins to change. She loses the awkwardness that Jane has always known and loved and becomes the model of cool. Things don’t go as well for Jane, and she soon winds up facing the threat of expulsion and ruin. But these are only the beginnings of much bigger problems. Jane’s life is about to get much worse. Ally claims that she sold her soul, and Jane throws herself on the line to get it back. But this battle is big. A crowd of strangers is about to descend on Providence, and they’re not there to go on a campus tour of Brown.

Catwalk

RM10

IN Catwalk, DEBORAH GREGORY creates a new YA series that takes her famously upbeat urban voice and combines it with the appeal of Project Runway and America’s Next Top Model. Catwalk follows Pashmina, Felinez, Angora, and Aphro, four best friends at Manhattan’s Fashion International High School who are about to enter the contest of their lives. Each year, students split up into Fashion Houses and compete to design, produce, and show fully original fashion lines. The winner gets a scholarship, a professional show, and a real shot at a career in fashion. Bouncy, smart, and nearly irresistible, Catwalk is a fierce introduction to a fashion world where fabulosity trumps waist size, and there truly is room for everyone.

Hot Mess : Summer In The City

RM10

Emma Freeman is waving buh-bye to her standard summer of stationwagoning around the suburbs. This summer she’s heading to the big city. Emma’s totally prepped for days at a fabulous internship and nights of socialite-ing around town. But when you’re 17 and not an heiress, reality is far from pink fizzy drinks and red velvet ropes. As the summer heats up, Emma learns that glamour is hard to come by when your only friend is too boy-crazy to hang, your budget is more H&M than D&G, and you spend 8 hours a day working for a man who proves that the devil wears Dockers too. Add one little white lie told to one very hot coworker and a roommate who makes Paris Hilton look junior varsity, and this summer in the city is starting to turn into one hot mess.

Summer Intern

RM10

Kira, recently graduated from high school and entering her first year at Columbia, is about to embark on the opportunity of a lifetime: a prestigious internship at Skirt magazine. Her roommates are Gabe and Teagan, who quickly become her best friends for the summer. Kira's nemeses, however, are the girls dubbed the Trumpettes, led by Daphnes Hughes, daughter of the owner of the company. Daphne gets pretty much everything she wants, including the hot boyfriend, and it seems as though she's going to get the pretigious internship working for Genevieve West, Editor-in-Chief of the magazine. Kira is also accustomed to getting everything she wants, but not in a spoiled-brat kind of way. At some points it seems similar to the plot of Mean Girls, except set in the offices of a magazine.
